02
Pre-Treatment Review

When you meet your new dentist, they’ll carry out thorough pre-treatment checks. This just allows us to take a look at your current oral health and see if there are any concerns we need to be aware of before we get your treatment started. We’ll carry out X-Rays and 5D scans, which allows us to take a closer look at your oral health.

03
Building Your Treatment Plan

Once your pre-treatment checks have been carried out, your dentist in Oxford will then put together a comprehensive and bespoke treatment plan, tailored specifically to your Beyond Dental journey. We ensure that this is done in a pressure-free environment, with no obligation, so that you can take the information home before making an informed decision on whether you’d like to proceed with the treatment plan.

Invisalign FAQs

What are Invisalign aligners made of?

Aligners are made of clear, strong medical grade plastic that is virtually invisible when worn.

What do Invisalign aligners look like?

Aligners are clear and look similar to tooth-whitening trays, but are custom-made for a better fit to move teeth. Some dentists have referred to them as “contact lenses for teeth.”

How do I wear Invisalign aligners?

You’ll wear each set of clear aligners day and night for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

How does Invisalign® effectively move teeth?

Like brackets and arch wires are to braces, Invisalign® aligners move teeth through the appropriate placement of controlled force on the teeth. The principal difference is that Invisalign® not only controls forces, but also controls the timing of the force application. At each stage, only certain teeth are allowed to move, and these movements are determined by the orthodontic treatment plan for that particular stage. This results in an efficient force delivery system.

Will I need any teeth out?

Every patient is different and in many cases it is not necessary. However, in cases of severe over crowding extractions may be necessary.

Will there be any damage to my teeth?

No, there will be no damage. However, if your teeth are crooked there may need to be some IPR (Inter Proximal Reduction). This means tiny amounts of enamel may need to be filed down to create space for teeth to be straightened.
