Veneers are used in the visible “smile zone” to improve aesthetics, usually from the top six to ten teeth. They can improve your teeth’s colour, shape, and position.
How can veneers help?
- Colour: To improve one or more discolored teeth, a precise shade of porcelain is chosen.
- Shape: Where teeth are small, veneers can be used and bulk must be added to make them more expressive and visible. A veneer can also restore the appearance of a chipped tooth.
- Position: Where a tooth is slightly out of position or there is a gap between the teeth, sometimes a veneer can be used to help align it with others.
Why do we use Emax® Veneers?
Emax ® veneers are ceramic pressed and their high strength and durability make it possible to produce them in very thin layers that allow little or no teeth to be drilled. As with conventional porcelain veneers, one of the greatest advantages of Emax ® veneers is to avoid drilling teeth to peg shapes.
The veneers are shaped in wax to produce the chosen shape after your dentist takes initial impressions. The wax veneers are then casted and the final veneer is produced using molten porcelain.
The superior strength of Emax ® Veneers enables them to be produced as ultra-thin layers but with much greater edge strength than “feldspathic” veneers and little chipping possibility.
